Photovoltaic project in Tansania: LIGHT BY SUNLIGHT!
Together with the association time2help, which wants to improve the future prospects of children & families in Arusha (Tanzania), we start these days with a new photovoltaic project.
We want to give families access to solar energy, specifically LIGHT!
In Tanzania, when the sun goes down, people currently work, study, talk or... with kerosene lamps or candlelight. This is not only expensive, but also extremely bad for the health of the people as well as for nature.
Currently, families are introduced to 2 solar lamp models in a pilot project, which are either fixed or portable. The families can decide for one or both variants. The lamps are initially pre-financed by us and repaid in 12-month rates, with explicit care taken to ensure that the previous financial burden does not increase. After just one year, both the people and the environment are better off than before thanks to the kerosene saved:
- financially
- health-wise, since kerosene vapors are toxic
- environmentally friendly thanks to fewer soot emissions
The start-up financing for the project is provided by our group of companies, because we are firmly convinced that people and the environment can be helped here.
