Ground Bond Tester for AC or DC Test Current

Associated Research HYAMP® 3240: Evaluate Protective Earth Connections with High Test Current

The Associated Research HYAMP® 3240 verifies whether the protective earth conductor of a device under test has a sufficiently low resistance. It applies a high AC or DC test current to the connection and compares the measured resistance or voltage drop with the specified limits.

What the Ground Bond Test Checks Beyond Continuity

A continuity test confirms that the protective earth conductor is electrically connected. The ground bond test also evaluates how the connection performs under high test current. This determines whether the protective earth conductor remains within the specified limits.
This is important when a basic continuity check does not provide sufficient evidence of electrical safety compliance.

Assign Test Sequences Reliably

For recurring tests, test sequences can be stored and assigned to the corresponding device under test by barcode. The recorded test results can also be linked to the relevant device under test.
The optional WithStand software controls the tester, manages test sequences, and records the results. The available interfaces also allow the Associated Research HYAMP® 3240 to be integrated into automated electrical safety test stations.

Combine with the Associated Research Hypot® Series

The HYAMP® 3240 can be connected to a compatible Associated Research Hypot® tester. Within the combined test sequence, the HYAMP performs the ground bond test, while the additional electrical safety tests depend on the selected Hypot® model.

Alternative Products

For applications requiring a higher test current, the KIKUSUI TOS6200 Series offers ground bond testing at up to 60 A. When ground bond, Hipot, and insulation resistance tests must be combined in one instrument, the Associated Research HypotULTRA 78xx Series is available in several configurations.
