Anyone who wants to perform a quick and accurate measurement of the typical measured variables such as voltage, current, resistance or frequency, reaches for a portable handheld multimeter from, for example, the brand GW Instek (Good Will Instruments). These are extremely inexpensive in different measurement classes with 250 V, 600 V or 1000 V to acquire in the LXinstruments store.
If you have higher requirements, you can directly choose a DMM, which can be used in the laboratory as a bench-top setup with flying wiring, but can also be permanently installed in a test rack. In this case, the side carrying handle and the protective rubber coating can be removed without much effort in order to mount the GW Instek device flush in the system on the rails.
The devices differ also among other things by the fact whether the connection of the channels is in front at the front or later invisibly in the back of the device. If the digital multimeter is to be used in an automatic test sequence, then the devices offer a wide variety of connection options:
- USB
- RS-232C
- GPIB
- LAN
Through the color displays and the self-explanatory buttons, all measurements can also be configured manually directly and easily read through the results by the large font.
Safety tester
If the legally regulated safety test must be carried out on a product, then this always includes a high voltage test. This can be easily performed with the devices from GW Insekt (Good Will Instruments) available in the LXinstruments store. The safety tests differ otherwise in the divisions:
With the additional installation of a matrix, the high-voltage channels can be expanded to the required number by multiplexing. The currently switched path is shown on the device display.
While a test is in progress and the DUT (device under test) is supplied with voltages that are dangerous to humans, it must be shielded so that it is safe to touch. For this purpose, LXinstruments has developed a test enclosure in which the DUT can be inserted and contacted. The hood can then simply be closed. The measuring instruments are installed in the test rack underneath the hood and the cables are led upwards so that they are safe to touch. By means of exchangeable interchangeable sets, a test hood can be used for a wide variety of products and contacting types. A traffic light on the side indicates the test result to the user in color.
Optical instruments
Due to the expansion of the Internet, equipment for testing and processing fiber optic components is increasingly required. For this purpose we recommend the instruments from Saluki Technology, which are differentiated in:
- Splicing of optical fibers (up to 6 motors) or
- Measuring of the splice (for example reflectometer or time domain measurements)
Test equipment
Complete automatic test systems for measuring unassembled PCB (Printed Circuit Board) or assembled PCA PCB (Printed Circuit Assembly) we offer with the Huntron measuring probe systems. These are available with one or two probes.
