What is the difference between single-channel and multi-channel potentiostats/galvanostats?
In contrast to single-channel potentiostats, multi-channel potentiostats/galvanostats often consist of several measuring channels in a still compact housing. With the OrigaLys potentiostats of the OGF series, for example, systems with up to 999 channels can be realized by modular expansion.
Compared to single-channel potentiostats/ -galvanostats, multi-channel potentiostats/ -galvanostats have several advantages:
- Increased measurement throughput (e.g. when measurements take several weeks)
- Simpler control
- Combination of different module specifications
- Reduced cost per measurement channel
- Reduced space requirement
