We mourn the death of our long-time employee Winfried Puschmann, who passed away unexpectedly.
Our thoughts are with his wife and children.
Electrical safety
Standards & certificates for testing electrical safety
The EN50191 standard regulates the standard-compliant design of workplaces. Dangerous voltages occur during electrical safety tests. The standard stipulates that the user must always be protected by a valid touch guard.
Type test: A product must pass this before series production
This is a comprehensive test in which both mechanical and electrical components are examined. The tests include electromagnetic compatibility, temperature behaviour, behaviour under the influence of pressure and humidity, etc. and are limited to one or a few prototypes. Such tests are usually carried out and certified by accredited testing bodies (TÜV, DGUV ...).
Product testing (100 % production testing)
In routine testing, products from ongoing production are tested. The inspection takes place at the end of production (end of line). In this way, the manufacturer guarantees that each product placed on the market complies with the safety provisions of the relevant standards. Compliance with the “Basic (Safety) Requirements” is regulated in Europe by EU directives, which also form the basis for CE marking, among other things.
