Huntron Tracker 2800 Series – Offline V/I Signature Test for Fault Diagnosis and Board-Level Testing of Populated PCBs

Variable Test Parameters for Maximum Flexibility
The Huntron Tracker 2800 Series offers more than 100 combinations of voltage, source resistance, and frequency. Unlike a conventional benchtop digital multimeter, the Huntron Tracker 2800 Series visualizes deviations in the electrical behavior of components and assemblies through V/I signature testing, making it especially suited for board-level testing and circuit fault diagnosis. This makes the trackers suitable for a wide range of fault-finding and test tasks in electronic diagnostics and board-level testing. The instruments can be used effectively as standalone offline analysis tools. In addition, the Huntron Tracker 2800 Series can be integrated into automated test systems, extending diagnostic capabilities, for example in combination with the Huntron Access Prober.

Precise V/I Signatures for Fast Decisions
The tracker applies a current-limited AC test signal between two defined test points. The resulting relationship between current and voltage forms a characteristic V/I signature that clearly visualizes the electrical behavior of the device under test. Deviations from a reference signature can be identified immediately, allowing rapid assessment of whether a component is intact, faulty, or already operating outside its specification. This method is particularly suitable for in-circuit testing (ICT) and fault analysis at the board level, even without available schematic data or operating voltage.

Modern Operation via Color Touchscreen
The integrated color touchscreen enables highly efficient operation. Functions such as the DC source or switching between channel A and B are directly accessible. This reduces operating effort, accelerates workflows, and supports teams that require reliable and reproducible testing.

Fast Display – Ideal for Screening and Production Testing
The display of the Huntron Tracker 2800 Series responds almost as quickly as a classic CRT display. This allows component pins to be screened in a very short time, providing a clear advantage for workshops, laboratories, and production lines with high test throughput. The extended measurement ranges increase test coverage compared to the Huntron Tracker Model 30 and enable even more detailed analysis. This is particularly beneficial for production testing, screening tests, and production-oriented test processes in electronics manufacturing.

Intelligent Analysis with Huntron SigAssist
Huntron SigAssist automatically evaluates the selected measurement ranges and calculates key parameters such as resistance, capacitance, power values, and forward and reverse breakdown voltages. The software delivers quickly interpretable diagnostic information and supports the electrical characterization of components in repair, rework, and quality assurance processes.

Dynamic Testing with Integrated DC Source
The built-in DC source enables direct control of components such as TRIACs, SCRs, and relays. This allows true dynamic testing to be performed with high precision, reproducibility, and practical relevance. This function significantly extends diagnostic capabilities and provides measurable added value for demanding electronic testing applications in the B2B environment.
