Offline V/I Signature Test for Board-Level Testing with Integrated 40-Pin IDC Connectors

V/I Signature Testing: Analysis of Populated Printed Circuit Boards
The Huntron Tracker HU-2800S performs V/I signature analysis under unpowered conditions. Unlike a conventional benchtop digital multimeter, this method visualizes deviations in the electrical behavior of components and assemblies and is especially suited for board-level testing and PCB diagnostics. This method graphically represents the electrical behavior of components and enables comparison of different measurement points. The procedure is particularly suitable for PCB testing at the assembly level, including in-circuit-test-like applications without operating voltage. The 2800S Series features two 40-pin IDC connectors for test clips, IC adapters, or custom cables. This allows numerous measurement points to be captured sequentially, providing a clear advantage for manufacturing, service, and laboratory environments where structured, multi-pin tests and multi-channel measurements are required.

Clear Visualization of Signatures
The HU-2800S board tester displays V/I signatures clearly and supports functions such as comparison, overlay, and magnification. Users can quickly identify differences between reference and actual signatures and obtain a reliable basis for the analysis of printed circuit boards and components. This significantly facilitates targeted fault localization at both component and assembly level.

Flexible Configuration for Diverse Test Tasks
The instrument allows adjustment of key test parameters such as signal level, frequency, and source resistance. In combination with suitable adapters, this creates a versatile setup that can be seamlessly integrated into a wide range of test processes—from single measurements to recurring assembly-level tests.

Use in Repair, Development, and Quality Assurance
The HU-2800S Series is designed for applications where printed circuit boards must be tested without operating voltage, such as repair diagnostics or service operations. The combination of V/I signature display, scanning functionality, and variable test parameters supports precise and structured analysis in repair workshops, development departments, and quality assurance processes.
