Programmable Bidirectional DC Power Supply with integrated DC Load

KEWELL S7200: Flexibility and Precision in Bidirectional Power Supply

The bidirectional DC power supply and load of the KEWELL S7200 Series combines a programmable DC power supply with an electronic DC load in a single, high-performance device. It is the ideal solution for applications where power, voltage, energy, and dynamic load changes must be controlled with high precision. With high efficiency, regenerative architecture, and flexible interface technology, the series is perfectly suited for laboratories, development, test fields, and quality assurance.

Versatile Functions for Testing, Development, and Laboratory Operation

The devices operate flexibly as a DC source or DC load and support multiple combinable operating modes (CV, CC, CP, CR). This enables precise implementation of a wide variety of test procedures. Functions such as precise charging, regenerative energy feedback, and the generation of complex signals, waveforms, and user-defined profiles allow realistic test sequences with reproducible output performance. Powerful software for automation and documentation complements the system. Optional interfaces such as GPIB provide additional integration options.

More Power for Your Development – Test Faster, Validate Better

The KEWELL S7200 Series significantly increases efficiency in the testing process. It integrates seamlessly into existing systems and delivers stable, reproducible results. Flexible integration into automated test sequences shortens development cycles and significantly increases throughput. Robust technology supports reliable grid energy feedback, while features such as battery simulation and bidirectional charging provide additional flexibility. Clear advantages for teams aiming to build scalable and future-proof test environments.

Targeted Application Focus of the Model Variants

The NG models are designed as universal bidirectional source/load units and are particularly suitable for testing applications in photovoltaics, electromobility, and power electronics, as well as for laboratory and test field use.
The PG models extend this functional scope with specialized battery test functions and suitable options that enable detailed energy storage characterization, for example through simulations using the “Automotive Power Curve” function. Applications in power grids and energy storage systems can also be implemented in a targeted manner.

Alternative Products

As an alternative for applications in a comparable power class, the Kewell S7000-H series is a suitable choice. It is available in several power ratings starting from 7.5 kW, but offers a lower maximum voltage and output current than the KEWELL S7200. For more powerful and scalable test systems, the dual-channel ITECH IT6600C series provides 42 kW per unit and can be expanded into the megawatt range.
