Hipot and Safety Testers for Electrical Safety Testing
Vitrek V7X: AC/DC Withstand Voltage, Insulation Resistance, and Ground Bond Testing
The Vitrek V7X Series includes seven hipot and electrical safety testers for production testing, quality control, and cable and component testing.
Depending on the model, the instruments perform AC and DC withstand voltage, insulation resistance, ground bond, and continuity tests. The variants differ in high-voltage type, test current, measurement function, and integrated switching.
Up to 5 kV Test Voltage and 30 A Ground Bond Current
Depending on the configuration, models V70 through V74 provide up to 5 kV AC or 5 kV DC. The V76 and V77 variants operate up to 2.5 kV AC and 2.75 kV DC.
Insulation tests use up to 5 kV and measure resistance values up to 450 GΩ, while ground bond testing uses up to 30 A AC with a four-wire measurement method for low-resistance connections.
Test Sequences and Multipoint Testing
The built-in memory stores up to 999 test steps in 60 sequences and recalls recurring test routines directly from the instrument. Ramp time, test duration, limits, and fault response can be defined for each step.
The V76 and V77 variants internally switch up to eight high-voltage, return, and continuity paths. Other models control up to four Vitrek 964 switching matrices with a total of up to 256 high-voltage test channels for multipoint testing.
Touch Operation, Interfaces, and Safety Functions
The 4.3-inch color touchscreen supports configuration and test execution, while separate pass/fail indicators show the test status.
USB 2.0, RS232, and digital I/O with safety interlock connect the instruments to manual and computer-controlled test stations.
Arc detection, self-test, and shutdown within 150 µs in the event of breakdown help protect high-voltage test processes.
Alternative Products
For tests requiring higher voltages and currents, consider the Vitrek 95X Series with up to 10 kV AC, 15 kV DC, and 40 A ground bond current. For recurring AC/DC hipot, insulation resistance, and ground bond tests in laboratories and production, the Associated Research HypotULTRA® 78xx Series is a suitable alternative.
