The ITECH IT8500+ series comprises single-channel programmable electronic DC loads for static and dynamic tests on power supplies, batteries, AC/DC and DC/DC converters, and chargers.
The power range from 150 W to 3000 W covers laboratory setups, development tests, and quality assurance test benches.
Define Load Conditions and Vary Them Dynamically
CC, CV, CR, and CP operating modes allow constant current, voltage, resistance, and power conditions to be set precisely. For real-world test sequences, these load conditions can be varied dynamically, for example during load changes up to 10 kHz, short-circuit simulations, or tests on switching power supplies, batteries, chargers, and LED power supplies.
Test Protection Points, Short Circuit, and Discharge
For power supply tests, the DC load applies a defined load to the output and shows how voltage, current limiting, shutdown protection, and transient behavior respond.
In battery testing, the load discharges the DUT according to defined settings, so discharge behavior and cutoff conditions can be evaluated reliably.
Test OCP, OPP, and Load Sequences Precisely
OCP/OPP test, battery test, and LIST mode run defined protection limits, discharge sequences, and current steps. Up to 100 recurring test sequences can be stored and recalled directly on the unit.
USB, RS232, and RS485 for Test Automation
Depending on the model and configuration, USB, RS232, or RS485 are available for integration into automated test environments. This makes the series suitable for test benches where power supplies, batteries, and converters need to be loaded without lengthy setup, controlled automatically, and tested comparably.
For DC Load Tests – Not as a Source
The IT8500+ series loads DUTs that deliver electrical energy with a defined DC load. It operates as an electronic sink, not as a DC source. If you test AC loads, measure high-voltage insulation, or need a regenerative DC load, you need a different device type.

For compact DC test benches with fast-charging protocols and multi-channel operation, the ITECH IT8500G+ programmable DC electronic load is a suitable alternative. If higher DC load power is required, consider the ITECH IT8400 high-power DC electronic load. For regenerative DC load testing, the ITECH IT8000 regenerative DC electronic load is the better fit; for AC and DC load profiles, use the ITECH IT8600 AC/DC electronic load.
