ITECH Electronic Co., Ltd. is based in New Taipei City, Taiwan, and develops test equipment for power supplies, batteries and power electronics. Its portfolio comprises more than 1,200 models used in over 70 countries and regions worldwide – from compact laboratory instruments to scalable high-power systems. The range includes AC and DC power supplies, electronic loads, bidirectional power supplies, grid simulators, PV simulators, battery testers, Source Measure Units and power meters.

LXinstruments has been supplying ITECH equipment since 2020. We support customers with product selection and system sizing and also integrate ITECH equipment into customized test and measurement systems.

Select ITECH Equipment by Test Application

• AC and DC power supplies: supply DUTs with defined voltages and currents.
• AC and DC electronic loads: apply defined load profiles to power supplies and power electronics. Regenerative models feed absorbed energy back into the grid.
• Bidirectional power supplies: operate as both source and sink and are suitable for charge, discharge and power-flow testing.
• Grid simulators: generate defined grid conditions and grid events for inverters and other grid-connected systems. Some ITECH series combine grid simulation, four-quadrant operation and an AC/DC source in a single instrument.
• PV simulators: reproduce the I-V characteristics of solar modules and arrays under defined irradiance and temperature conditions.
• Battery simulation: selected bidirectional systems reproduce the electrical behavior of a battery, for example based on SOC, open-circuit voltage, internal resistance or charge/discharge behavior.
• Source Measure Units (SMU): source and measure voltage and current with high precision and enable four-quadrant I-V measurements on semiconductors and electronic components.
• Battery testers: measure battery voltage and internal resistance and support inspection and sorting tasks.
• Battery charge/discharge test systems: charge and discharge cells, modules or battery packs under defined conditions and measure parameters including capacity and cycle performance.
• Power meters: depending on the model and configuration, measure voltage, current, power, power factor, frequency, harmonics and electrical energy.

From Batteries to Inverters

ITECH specifies applications including power supply testing, batteries and energy storage, automotive electronics and e-mobility, solar/PV inverters, semiconductors and ICs, as well as research and education.
Typical DUTs include battery cells and packs, power supplies, DC/DC converters, inverters, charging equipment and other power electronic assemblies.

Key Criteria for Selection and System Sizing

The first considerations are current type, voltage, current and power. The test application then determines the remaining requirements: Does the instrument need to source power, sink power or both? Is energy regeneration required? How quickly do setpoints or loads change, how many channels are needed and which interfaces must be integrated into the test system?
For high-power applications, it is also important to determine whether the selected series can be expanded through parallel operation.
