Solar Array Simulator for Microinverters, Power Optimizers, and MPPT Testing

PV Simulator for Static and Dynamic I-V Curves

The ITECH IT-N2100 Series reproduces defined I-V curves for testing microinverters, power optimizers, and the PV inputs of energy storage systems. Irradiance, temperature, and shading can be set as required. This enables comparable MPPT, efficiency, and functional tests under controlled conditions.

Dynamic MPPT Testing

The current control loop maintains the specified I-V curve even at DUT MPPT tracking frequencies of up to 250 Hz. Up to 4,096 data points define static and dynamic curves in high detail and reproduce changes in irradiance, temperature, or shading with precision. Minimal output current ripple keeps the source’s influence on current sampling and MPPT evaluation very low.

Test Models and Multi-Channel Operation

Five PV operating modes cover user-defined curves, list sequences, integrated PV curve models, fixed mode, and table-based curves. Test models in accordance with EN 50530, Sandia, NB/T 32004, CGC/GF004, and CGC/GF035 can be executed and documented via software. USB and LAN enable remote control using SCPI, while up to 20 channels can be operated synchronously.

Selection by PV Input Requirements and Test Power

The IT-N2100 Series includes models for different voltage, current, and power requirements at the DUT’s PV input. Model selection depends on the required operating range and maximum test power. The isolation rating of up to 1,500 V DC extends the use of the IT-N2100 Series to high-voltage test setups.

Alternative Products

For PV simulation with significantly higher voltage, current, or power requirements, consider the Kewell D2000-IV PV Simulator. For test systems that also require bidirectional source and sink operation with regenerative feedback, the ITECH IT6000B Series with solar array simulation software is a suitable alternative.
