PXIe Digital Input/Output Modules for Functional Testing

VTI EMX-7500: Read and Switch Digital Signals

The VTI EMX-7500 Series expands PXI Express Test Systems (PXIe) with digital inputs and outputs for automated functional tests.
The PXIe Digital Input/Output Modules (DIO) read switch states, set outputs, and switch relays or LEDs. Supported signal types include transistor-transistor logic (TTL), low-voltage TTL (LVTTL), and 60 V static I/O. The 160-pin ERNI connector links the digital channels to the DUT wiring.

Set Up Manually, Control Automatically

The Soft Front Panel supports operation, configuration, and commissioning. For automated operation, Interchangeable Virtual Instruments (IVI) drivers connect the modules to test software. The test program configures I/O ports, reads states, and sets outputs. The modules of the VTI EMX-7500 Series acquire and switch digital signals in the PXIe test system but do not generate test power.

Choose the Right Module for Reading, Switching, or Isolation

The EMX-7500 Series is selected according to the task in the test system:

  • for read-only functions: 64-channel input modules 
  • for relays, LEDs, and switching signals: 64-channel output modules 
  • for flexible digital I/O tasks: 64-channel modules with configurable inputs and outputs 
  • for fixed mixed signals: module with 32 inputs and 32 outputs 
  • for separate reference potentials: isolated modules with 1000 V isolation to system ground

This clearly defines the function: the EMX-7500 Series reads and switches digital signals in the PXIe test system. It is not a programmable DC power supply, electronic load, or hipot tester.

Alternative Products

If dynamic digital I/O with vector memory or a complete modular functional test setup is required instead of static 60 V digital I/O, consider Marvin Test GX5292E or the OTP2 Functional Test Platform.
