Multi-Channel Data Loggers for Thermocouple and Voltage Measurements
VTI EX1000A Series: Capture Many Measurement Points in a Small Footprint
The VTI EX1000A Series combines up to 48 differential input channels in a compact 1U chassis. This makes the series well suited for multi-channel data acquisition in test systems that require the simultaneous measurement of numerous temperature and voltage signals. Typical applications include aerospace, energy, automotive, and industrial test environments.
Which Sensors Can Be Connected?
Depending on the model, the series supports thermocouples, voltage, RTDs, and thermistors. On designated models, the EX10SC extends the measurement capabilities to strain, pressure, frequency, and position. This allows different sensor types to be integrated into a single multi-channel measurement system.
The Entire Measurement Path Is Self-Calibrated
The End-to-End Self-Calibration verifies the complete measurement path within the data logger—from the input stage through the filters and amplifiers to analog-to-digital conversion. During this process, defined reference signals are injected into the internal measurement path before the signal is filtered and amplified. This compensates for changes caused by drift, aging, and temperature variations.
Detect Thermocouple Faults
The Open Transducer Detection continuously monitors connected thermocouples and reports open circuits or unreliable connections. Cold junction temperature measurement depends on the model; the EX1000A requires an external CJC signal.
Operate Multiple Data Loggers as One System
Using LXI and Ethernet, multiple instruments can be integrated into a single test system. IEEE-1588 provides precise time synchronization of measurement data. Web access, EXlab, and IVI and LabVIEW drivers simplify setup, data acquisition, and integration into automated test systems.
Select the Right Configuration
The most suitable configuration depends primarily on the required measurement type, channel count, connection type, and power supply. The series is available with different connection and hardware options, allowing the data loggers to be matched to the specific requirements of each test system.
Alternative Products
For 16-channel acquisition close to the measurement point and higher sampling rates, consider the VTI EX1400 Series. If your application requires a modular benchtop instrument with an integrated digital multimeter and interchangeable measurement modules, the GW Instek DAQ-9600 Series is a suitable alternative. For applications combining data acquisition and switching in one mainframe, consider the VTI EX1200 Series.
