GW Instek GSM-20H10: Source and Measurement in One Instrument
The GW Instek GSM-20H10 combines a programmable DC voltage and current source with an integrated 6½-digit digital multimeter.
As a Source Measure Unit (SMU), it applies defined voltage or current levels while simultaneously measuring voltage, current, or resistance at the DUT.
Typical applications include I-V characterization of semiconductors, passive components, organic materials, nanomaterials, and lighting components.
Four-Quadrant Operation for Characterization and Battery Testing
In four-quadrant operation, the GW Instek GSM-20H10 supplies power to the DUT or absorbs power and dissipates it internally. This supports I-V characterization as well as battery charge and discharge testing. Its two operating ranges provide either higher current at lower voltage or higher voltage at lower current.
Configure Measurement Sequences for the DUT
Source Delay Measure delays measurement after a voltage or current change until the DUT has stabilized. The GSM-20H10 then acquires the measurement value.
Linear and logarithmic sweeps, stored source values, and user-defined sequences are available for characteristic measurements. Each sequence can contain up to 2,500 source points.
The GSM-20H10 supports 2-, 4-, and 6-wire resistance measurements. For low-resistance measurements, the 4-Wire Measurement reduces the effect of lead resistance.
Evaluate Limits and Integrate into Test Systems
Limit tests automatically classify measurement values as PASS or FAIL. OVP and OTP monitor the output voltage and instrument temperature, while the OVP threshold is user-adjustable.
SCPI, RS-232, USBTMC, and LAN support computer-controlled operation; GPIB is optional.
The instrument is designed for source-measure sequences and component characterization, not for conventional power-supply tasks or high-power electronic load testing.
