Testing AC and DC Sources Under Load
The ITECH IT8200E draws power directly from the AC or DC output of the device under test. The regenerative AC/DC electronic load feeds this energy back into the utility grid instead of converting it into heat within the test system. This reduces cooling requirements and operating costs.
Testing V2G, EVSE, and Power Electronics
The IT8200E is designed for load testing of V2G systems, EVSE, inverters, and Power Conversion Systems (PCS). UPS systems, frequency converters, generators, and AC power supplies can also be tested under realistic load conditions. This verifies whether the source maintains a stable output and responds to load changes as intended.
Simulating Real-World Load Conditions
Depending on the test case, the IT8200E Series simulates linear and nonlinear loads in single- and three-phase configurations. Dynamic sequences apply controlled load changes and transient events. Voltage and current waveforms are displayed directly, while harmonics and phase relationships can also be analyzed. This allows the source response to be tracked throughout the test.
Scaling Load Capacity to the Test System
The IT8200E provides 21 kVA in just 3U. The series scales up to 231 kVA, while Master/Slave configurations can reach up to 10 MVA. This makes the IT8200E suitable for development test benches and large automated test systems.
