Regenerative electronic DC load for high-power and energy-intensive test applications

The ITECH IT8000 Series is a regenerative electronic DC load designed for test setups involving high power levels, voltages, and currents. It is suitable for applications where load conditions must be maintained stably over long periods, dynamically varied, or cyclically repeated. In continuous and long-duration tests, the energy absorbed from the device under test is fed back into the grid instead of being dissipated as heat. This significantly reduces energy consumption, heat generation, and the required cooling infrastructure, particularly during continuous load, burn-in, and long-term tests.

Flexible load operating modes for real-world application scenarios

The series supports constant current (CC), constant voltage (CV), constant power (CP), and constant resistance (CR) modes, as well as combined modes for modeling realistic load profiles. Typical applications include testing high-power DC power supplies, DC/DC and AC/DC converters, inverters, battery and energy storage systems, fuel cells, and DC links in energy and power electronics.

Dynamic load simulation with reproducible profiles

For time-dependent test programs, the IT8000 Series provides a LIST mode with freely definable sequences as well as an integrated arbitrary waveform generator. Load steps, ramps, pulse sequences, and multi-stage profiles can be precisely defined and executed reproducibly. Adjustable current rise and fall times in constant current mode enable targeted analysis of control behavior, stability, and transients under realistic load conditions.

Battery and energy storage testing with controlled discharge processes

For battery and energy storage applications, the IT8000 Series offers specialized discharge functions and definable shutdown criteria. An integrated precharge function limits inrush currents when connecting to precharged systems. Protection mechanisms such as overcurrent, overvoltage, overpower, and overtemperature protection, as well as sense reverse-polarity and transient protection, reliably safeguard the device under test and the test environment.

Scalability and integration into automated test environments

The IT8000 Series supports remote control via SCPI commands and features standardized interfaces such as LAN, USB, CAN, and digital I/O. Parallel operation of multiple units allows flexible adaptation to different power requirements while ensuring reproducible load distribution.

We are pleased to support you in the technical configuration of the IT8000 Series, tailored to your specific test requirements.
