Regenerative High-Voltage Grid Simulator for Grid and System Testing
ITECH IT7900H: High-Voltage Grid Simulation with Energy Regeneration
The ITECH IT7900H Series simulates AC grids at high output voltages and operates in all four quadrants. It provides AC or AC+DC output, absorbs power from the DUT, and feeds it back into the utility grid. This allows realistic testing of grid-connected devices even when power flows in both directions.
Grid disturbances such as voltage dips, phase jumps, frequency changes, and harmonics can be generated in a controlled manner. With programmable output impedance and an RLC function, the series can also reproduce different grid impedances and anti-islanding scenarios.
In PHiL setups, the IT7900H operates as a four-quadrant power amplifier. It connects the simulation environment with real power hardware and transfers the calculated grid waveforms to the DUT.
Alternative Products
If output voltages up to 700 V L-N or 1050 V L-N are not required, regenerative grid simulators for lower voltage levels are available within the same product class. The ITECH IT7900 Grid Simulator covers these test requirements. For higher power at 350 V L-N, the ITECH IT7900E Series is available.

Supplier
LXinstruments has been supplying ITECH equipment since 2020. When an individual instrument needs to become part of a complete test system, we support you with product selection, system sizing and integration into the automation environment. The key is to ensure that the DUT, power requirements, interfaces and test sequence work together.
We also use ITECH equipment in customized test systems. Depending on the test application, we combine power supplies, electronic loads, grid simulation and measurement technology so that the functions match both the DUT and the test sequence.
