High-Power Electronic DC Load for Battery, Fuel Cell, and DC Charging Station Tests

Safely Reproduce Dynamic DC Power Tests

The ITECH IT8400 series provides high-power electronic DC loads for dynamic DC power tests. Batteries, fuel cells, DC charging stations, OBCs, DC/DC converters, motors, and power electronics can be tested under real load conditions.
With 600 V and 1200 V models as well as master/slave scaling up to 600 kW, the series is suitable for laboratories, development, and automated test systems.

Test Load Steps, Overload, and Small Current Components

For fast load changes, motor start simulations, and transient power supply tests, a 25 kHz dynamic mode and short-term double-power loading under 3 s are available.
Three current measurement ranges with up to 40 µA resolution make high load currents and small current components evaluable in the same test setup.

Program and Automate Test Sequences

LIST mode, trigger functions, and a 0–10 V analog input reproduce repeatable load profiles, ramps, and current steps. OCP/OPP tests automatically check protection points.
LAN, USB, RS232, GPIB, CAN, analog, and I/O simplify integration into ATE systems, PLC environments, and SCPI/LabVIEW control systems.

Load Instead of Source: Select Correctly

This DC load is the right choice when the DUT must deliver energy and a robust sink is required. The series is not suitable for source operation, AC load tests, hipot tests, or regenerative load tests.

Alternative Products

If energy recovery is a key requirement for the load test, the ITECH IT8000 regenerative DC electronic load is a suitable alternative. For smaller DC test benches and programmable load profiles, consider the ITECH IT8500+ programmable DC electronic load. If AC and DC load testing are required in one system, the ITECH IT8600 AC/DC electronic load may be the right choice.
