ITECH IT7900P: Grid Simulator, Source, and Regenerative Load in One System
The ITECH IT7900P Series combines a grid simulator, AC/DC source, and regenerative AC/DC load in a single device. It is suitable for test applications in which the DUT must not only be supplied with power, but also tested under different grid conditions and with bidirectional power flow.
Grid disturbances, dynamic voltage and frequency profiles, and different grid impedances can be reproduced in a controlled manner. This allows inverters, energy storage systems, and charging equipment, for example, to be tested under reproducible grid conditions. The series also supports anti-islanding and LVRT testing.
In regenerative operation, the IT7900P absorbs energy from the DUT and feeds it back into the utility grid. For Power Hardware in the Loop, it can also be used as a four-quadrant power amplifier, connecting the simulation with physical power hardware.
For PHiL applications (Power Hardware in the Loop), the IT7900P processes external digital or analog control signals and converts them into the corresponding power waveform. This allows simulated grid waveforms to be applied directly to connected DUTs such as inverters, energy storage systems, or vehicle components.
