Application Logic
Use the IT8700P Series when multiple DC outputs or power paths must be tested simultaneously and defined load profiles, load steps, and time-coordinated sequences are required. The electronic DC load operates as a sink and applies controlled loading to the device under test to evaluate regulation behavior, stability, and protection circuits under realistic load conditions.

Classification and Application Scope
The ITECH IT8700P Series is a programmable, multi-channel electronic DC load (multichannel DC load) for targeted loading of DC sources, power supplies, batteries in discharge mode, and DC-DC converters. It operates exclusively as an electronic sink and supports test scenarios in which multiple DC outputs or power paths are loaded simultaneously or in a coordinated manner.

Modular Multi-Channel Concept
In test setups with multiple supply outputs or power stages, single-channel electronic DC loads are often insufficient. The IT8700P Series enables parallel operation of multiple load channels within a mainframe and supports synchronized operation of multiple modules.
The modular architecture allows the number of channels and output power to be adapted to the device under test. Depending on the module configuration, multiple load points can be tested within a single system and test sequences can be executed consistently.

Load Modes and Dynamic Load Profiles
For realistic simulation of electrical loads, the IT8700P Series supports constant current (CC), constant voltage (CV), constant power (CW), and constant resistance (CR) modes, as well as combined operating modes.
Using the LIST function, time-based load profiles, defined load steps, and dynamic load changes can be executed automatically. This is particularly relevant for evaluating the regulation behavior and stability of DC sources under varying load conditions.

Measurement and Protection Functions
The IT8700P Series measures current and voltage with sampling rates of up to 50 kHz, enabling precise measurements even during fast load changes and dynamic test profiles.
Integrated protection functions against overcurrent, overvoltage, overpower, and overtemperature protect both the device under test and the test system and ensure stable operation in development and production environments.

System Integration and Automation
SCPI-based remote control via standard interfaces allows seamless integration of the IT8700P Series into automated test systems, ATE environments, and multi-channel test benches. The modules can be controlled independently or synchronously and centrally parameterized.
This supports consistent test sequences, reduces system-related deviations between channels, and simplifies the implementation of repeatable test procedures.
