Wye

What does Wye mean?

A connection of three electrical components in a three-phase system.

A wye configuration (or star connection or Y connection) is a type of connection of three electrical components (e.g. windings in a transformer) in a three-phase system, in which one end of each component is connected to a common point called the neutral wire (or center point).
