The ITECH IT-M3900B Series combines a bidirectional DC power supply with a regenerative electronic DC load.
With up to 6 kW in 1U, 12 kW in 2U, 1,500 V, and 1,020 A, it enables space-saving DC test systems with high power density.
Source, Load, and Energy Regeneration
Because the IT-M3900B can both source and load a DUT within one system, there is no need to switch between separate source and load instruments. At the same time, the fast current-direction transition reduces overshoot during dynamic tests. In load mode, the system feeds back up to 95% of the absorbed power, while grid monitoring synchronizes the regenerative operation with the AC mains.
Dynamic DC Test Profiles
For controlled load changes, the series combines CV/CC priority, adjustable output impedance, and programmable voltage, current, and power slew rates.
Up to 10 million sequence points reproduce complex test profiles, while CC, CV, CW, CR, and combined operating modes extend test flexibility.
Battery and Automotive Testing
Battery testing and simulation can be parameterized using voltage, capacity, internal resistance, and state of charge. Test curves for LV123, LV148, DIN 40839, ISO 16750-2, SAE J1113-11, LV124, and ISO 21848 are also stored in the instrument and cover selected test requirements. This function is not available on 10 V models.
Scalability, Interfaces, and Protection
Master-slave parallel operation increases the available power. For configurations with more than 16 units, each in a 1U form factor, or more than eight units, each in a 2U form factor, ITECH recommends project-specific coordination.
USB, CAN, LAN, and digital I/O are integrated; GPIB and analog/RS-232 are optional. OVP, ±OCP, ±OPP, overtemperature protection, transient voltage-drop protection, and anti-islanding protection safeguard system operation.
