AWES (Arbitrary Waveform Editing Software)
What does AWES mean?
AWES – Arbitrary Waveform Editing Software refers to vendor-provided PC software for the convenient creation, editing, and management of arbitrary signals for arbitrary/function generators. It is used in labs, production, and service.
In practice, AWES enables, for example, graphical drawing of waveforms, numeric editing of data points, importing/exporting CSV data, and assembling signal sequences for repeatable tests.
In combination with GW Instek AFG and MFG generators, prepared waveforms can be transferred directly. In many instrument series, AWES is provided as free add-on software.
Typical applications include:
- EMI/EMC pre-compliance testing
- Sensor/actuator stimulation
- PWM and modulation tests
- Functional and end-of-line testing
As a result, the Arbitrary Waveform Editing Software significantly shortens signal preparation, reduces errors in test-signal generation, and improves the repeatability of measurement procedures.
