Certification
What Does Certification Mean?
A certification in the field of electrical and test engineering is the formal verification that a product, system, or measurement method meets specified requirements. These requirements are based on international standards, technical guidelines, or legal regulations.
Testing is usually performed by independent and accredited laboratories, often based on the ISO/IEC 17025 standard. The evaluation typically includes aspects such as safety, performance, electromagnetic compatibility, or measurement accuracy.
Certifications provide an objective assessment of quality, increase market acceptance of a product, and serve as proof of compliance for customers, authorities, or standards organizations. In highly regulated industries such as energy, automation, or medical technology, certifications are often a prerequisite for product deployment.
